Unclaimed Sussex estates: Could you be entitled to millions?

Using government data and Flourish programming I created a monthly list of 'unclaimed estates' for titles across Newsquest. These were again top-performing across the company and gained hundreds of thousands of views.

Could you be entitled to a share of inheritance from an unknown deceased relative?

If a person dies without leaving a will and there appear to be no family members their estate passes to the Crown as ownerless property, or ‘Bona Vacantia’.

An estate can be anything from property, personal possessions and money. In general, estates held on the Bona Vacantia list can be claimed within a 12-year deadline, from the date the estate was taken into possession of the Crown.
