Kayleigh set up the Facebook group to help the hungry (Radio Plymouth, December 2019. Article available here.)

Charitable local, Kayleigh Clair Perkins, set up the Facebook group 'Food Sharing 4 Everyone' to help the people of Plymouth who are in need.

The group was started in October after Kayleigh received praise for taking the initiative to donate unwanted food items after a clear-out to a local woman via a buy and sell group on Facebook.

Shortly after, Kayleigh, on universal credit, set up Food Sharing 4 Everyone to help those who could not access food banks or who "needed an extra help".

The rapidly growing group currently has over 1,100 members.

Kayleigh said: "I've had such a good response from people that think it's a brilliant idea and want to help."

Kayleigh told Radio Plymouth that existing services, like food banks, aren't able to help everyone which could be a reason the Food Sharing 4 Everyone group has been such a success.

Over the festive period Kayleigh and a group of helpers are making and delivering 36 hampers to help spread cheer and ease the burden of local people this Christmas.
